Clįudio Eduardo Sousa Carvalho Araśjo was born on 22th of December, 1992, in Vila Nova De Famalicćo, Portugal. He is currently a Electrical and Computer Engineering Masters student at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Coimbra (DEEC-FCTUC). On September 2015, he joined the AP4ISR team of the Institute of Systems and Robotics in order to work on his M. Sc. dissertation entilted "Design and Development of a ROS Architecture for Robotic Multisensory Attention", under the supervision of Dr. Joćo Filipe Ferreira.

Jorge Miguel de Carvalho Monteiro was born on June 3rd, 1992, in Santarém, Portugal. He competed his M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of University of Coimbra on Sep. 2017. In his M.Sc. dissertation, he worked on human-inspired object discrimination by colour for artificial attention, under the supervision of Prof. Joćo Filipe Ferreira.

On Dec. 2017, he was hired as a research assistant to carry out research activities within the project EuroAGE - Innovative Initiatives for the Promotion of Active Ageing in the EuroACE Region, under the scientific supervision of Prof. Rui P. Rocha.

Daniel Chichorro de Carvalho was born on July 12nd, 1993, in Coimbra, Portugal. He is currently an Electrical and Computer Engineering Masters student at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Coimbra (DEEC-FCTUC). On November 2016, he joined the AP4ISR team of the Institute of Systems and Robotics in order to work on his M. Sc. dissertation entilted "Development of a Real-Time Facial Feature Detection and Tracking Framework for Robust Gaze Estimation", under the supervision of Dr. Joćo Filipe Ferreira.

Joćo Nuno Antunes Oliveira was born on the 28th of October, 1992 in Coimbra, Portugal. He is currently a Bachelor student at the Department of Informatics Engineering of the University of Coimbra.

He joined the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR) on June 2013 to work as a Research Technician on the CASIR project (PTDC/EEI-AUT/3010/2012).

Pablo Lanillos received the M.Sc. degree in computer sciences and the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering, specialization robotics (July 2013), on the subject “minimum time search of mobile targets in uncertain environments” from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), Spain. In 2006 he joined the Department of Computer Architecture and Automatic Control, UCM, and as a PhD candidate he has been a visiting researcher at the Aerospace Control Laboratory (ACL), Massachusetts Institute of Technology; the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (LIA), École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne; and the Australian Centre for Field Robotics (ACFR), University of Sydney. From 2012 to 2013 he has also been working as a researcher assistant in the optical department of the Physics faculty (UCM) developing machine learning algorithms for hand written text recognition. He was a a member of the Spanish Government funded projects: “System for surveillance, search and rescue in the sea by means of collaboration of autonomous marine and air vehicles” and “Planning, simulation and control platform for multiple aerial and marine vehicles cooperation”.

His main research interests are: probabilistic decision making, Bayesian search, autonomous robots coordination, information fusion and behavior-based robotics.

He is currently a Postdoctoral Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR) of the University of Coimbra, within the scope of the CASIR project: Coordinated Control of Stimulus-Driven and Goal-Directed Multisensory Attention within the Context of Social Interaction with Robots (PTDC/EEI-AUT/3010/2012).

André de Jesus Gradil was born on January 1st, 1991, in Figueira da Foz, Portugal. Henrique Gonēalves Guerra was born on November 8th, 1986, in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal.

He is presently an MSc student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Coimbra, Portugal.

He is currently conducting thesis research on the subject "Implementation of real-time probabilistic auditory source separation using a binaural setup" at the Mobile Robotics Lab, Institute of Systems and Robotics.

Christiana Tsiourti has a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus and currently continues her studies as a post graduate student while working as a researcher at IPN.
During her undergraduate studies she received an Erasmus Scholarship and studied for one year at the University of Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid.
She has worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Computer Science Department of the University of Cyprus and was an active participant in the MELCO research project.

Leandro Pavón Serrano was born on Novenber 25, 1987 , in Cįceres , Spain and he has a B.Sc. on Telecommunication Engineering by the University of Extremadura , specialization in Digital Image and Audio Processing, 2011.

Leandro Pavón has been researching on the RoboLab ( Robotics Laboratory of Cįceres) from the University of Extremadura. Leandro research area is Computer Vision and Robotics and Tracking Systems. In RoboLab he was working with RoboComp framework creating two new software components:
  • camimicComp: Using Kinect sensor to select depth thresold and improve the CamShift Tracking of OpenCV.
  • moleComp: Using ARToolKit library with two marks to make a game like MoleMole. That should be a proposal for medical application in Parkinson's patients.

He has also performed Kinect calibration (with Stereo Cam OpenCV method) and modifications in kinectComp.

Leandro Pavón is currently researching in ISR (Systems and Robotics Institute) from University of Coimbra, he will integrate probabilistics methods to 3D reconstruction from 2D vision with multicamera in 2D+Depth vision with Kinect.

He is being supervised by Jorge Dias with co-supervision of Joćo Filipe Ferreira in University of Coimbra and by Pedro Nśńez in University of Extremadura.

Ing. Gigel MACESANU was born in Romania in 1985. He received the B.E. degree in automatics from Transylvania University of Brasov, Brasov, Romania, in 2009. Since 2009, he has been with the Department of Process Control Systems, Transylvania University of Brasov, where he is currently a Ph.D. student.

His main areas of research interest are image processing techniques used in active vision systems. Mr. Macesanu is a member of the Romanian Society of Automation and Technical Informatics (SRAIT).
